CMS Credentials and Access

While working with you, GetUWired does request admin access to your Content Management System (WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, etc.), when working on your site-specific solutions. Generally, we don’t use your personal credentials when working on the site, as it provides an incomplete history; but if you won’t be simultaneously working in the backend of your site and would rather just provide us your own admin credentials, we accept them as well.

We need this access for:

  • Building your Website
  • Creating Custom Plugins for your site
  • Ongoing Site Maintenance
  • Making any edits that aren’t just content-related

Creating a WordPress Admin User

  1. Login to your WordPress site. Generally, this is at https://yoursite.com/wp-admin.
  2. On the lefthand side of the Dashboard, you will see a menu. Click on ‘Users’.
  3. At the top of the User Page, click the ‘Add New’ button.
  4. Fill out the form and set the role to Administrator. Generally, we like our accounts to be linked to support@getuwired.com.
  5. Click the ‘Add User’ button
  6. Use the Credential submission form to submit the username and password to us. Once received, we will regenerate a secure password to be used while we are working on your site.

Creating a Squarespace Admin User

  1. Once you login to your Squarespace account, click on ‘Permissions’ in the sidebar menu.
  2. Next, click on the “Invite Contributor’ button.
  3. A pop-up form will appear on your screen. Use the support@getuwired.com email address for the new user, and make sure to flip the toggle to ‘Administrator’. Click invite at the top of the form.
  4. Use our credential submission form to submit the username and password to us. Once received, we will regenerate a secure password to be used while we are working on your site.

Creating a Wix Admin User

  1. Login to your Wix Site.
  2. In the top menu, click ‘Settings’, then select ‘Roles and Permissions’.
  3. Click the ‘Invite’ button on the Roles & Permissions page.
  4. Fill out the pop-up form, using support@getuwired.com as the invited email address. In this particular platform, if GetUWired will not need full access to the site (Admin), you can assign our user role the ‘Website Management’ role.
  5. Use the Credential submission form to submit the username and password to us. Once received, we will regenerate a secure password to be used while we are working on your site.
