Their existing customer relationship management (CRM) system lacked the efficiency and scalability needed to manage growing student relationships effectively and they approached GetUWired to help with moving into Copper CRM. 

Key challenges included migrating extensive contact records, maintaining one to many relationships between different types of contacts, and preserving valuable student history and engagement notes. Additionally, ensuring data integrity and seamless integration into Copper CRM posed significant hurdles, requiring an advanced API-driven approach to avoid data loss and inconsistencies.

The Solution

GetUWired partnered with Focus Collegiate to execute a comprehensive CRM migration strategy. Leveraging Copper CRM’s API, GetUWired designed custom scripts to extract, transform, and load all necessary data, including contact details, custom fields, relationships, and historical notes.

A strategic approach was implemented: first, testing in a sandbox environment, then executing structured data imports in controlled batches. To ensure continuity, GetUWired mapped and migrated key relationship structures, such as linking students to their support resources, utilizing Copper’s Connect Fields.

Custom logic was applied to categorize and transfer historical notes intelligently, ensuring that no crucial student interactions were lost in the transition. Close collaboration with Focus Collegiate allowed iterative refinements, ensuring the data landed in an optimal format for their ongoing use.
